We
invite you to experience what luxury must have been as guests
of the Vanderbilts or Astors. This home is filled with antiques
handed down through generations.
Entering
the Estate through the Main Gate is the West Terrace, and you
immediately feel a peace and tranquility so rare in these hectic
times. Opening an oversize Spanish oak door, you walk into the
marble entryway; your path lit by a gilded crystal chandelier
that appears to be hanging from clouds in a domed ceiling.
You
may now step down into the French appointed Main Salon. An arched
ceiling with architectural details accent a room set with Aubusson
tapestries and hand woven French carpets. Above the fireplace,
a painting of Aphrodite with Cupid peers down upon your guests
as they enjoy the quiet majesty of the room.
Across
the way is a Baronial Dining Room with a gold chandelier and swan-based
dining table. The room also holds a secret panel for you to discover.
From here you can also enter a smaller, more intimate dining room
with a terrace view.
Crystal
wall sconces brighten your steps to the house's center Garden
Room of columns and fountains. Soft light filters through a canopy
of silk. From here, step up into a Library with dramatic wine
colored damask walls and a golden chandelier creating a quiet
retreat. Or, choosing a different pathway, you may enter the Marble
Salon. With its own wet bar, fireplace and spacious surroundings,
this room also has a view of the pool and gardens through wide
French doors.
One
must experience the Von Helding Estate in person to truly appreciate
the ambiance of this beautifully appointed home.
